Dr. Thangamani Seenivasan has been in practice with Dr. Lee and Dr. Imegwu since completing his fellowship training in surgical oncology in 2003. At Somerset Surgical Associates, he treats patients with compassion and respect, whether counseling on treatment or providing palliative care to relieve suffering. He is well-versed in caring for patients with general surgical issues, and has extensive experience in treating patients with cancers of the stomach, liver, and pancreas. Dr. Seenivasan has developed protocols to treat patients whose cancers have spread to the liver, by using radio-frequency ablation. He is an adept practitioner of robotic surgeries and advanced laparoscopic techniques.
Dr. Seenivasan is currently an officer of the Medical Staff at Somerset Medical Center and is the Director of Surgical Oncology of the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. He is also the appointed Cancer Liaison Physician of the Cancer Center as per recognition by the American College of Surgeons. In the past, Dr. Seenivasan was president of the Somerset County Medical Society. To illustrate how his professional and clinical career has made an impact on the lives of others, he was named as one of New Jersey’s "Top Doctors" of 2009, 2012, and 2013 by NJ Monthly Magazine.
