Dr. Gunaseelan Ambrose joins Somerset Surgical Associates with many years of experience. After completing his residency training he moved to Westchester, New York. He practiced in Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY for five years. During his tenure there, he was also on staff at New York Medical College as an attending surgeon and Instructor in Surgery. During his period there, he trained surgery residents and medical students in the art of surgery.

In August, 2005, he joined Dr. Sugarmann and associates at Surgical Associates of Central New Jersey, Somerville, NJ. He has been on staff at RWJUH Somerset since that time, where he continues his passion for teaching and compassionate patient care.

Dr. Ambrose's interest and expertise are in all aspects of general and laparoscopic surgery. He has a special interest in gastrointestinal surgery, such as surgery of the gallbladder, stomach, small intestines and colon. He is on the Colorectal Multidisciplinary Team at the Steeplechase Cancer Center at RWJUH.
